It’s been 18 days since Faye’s surgery and, as expected, recovery is slow. Things are, however, right on schedule if not ahead of schedule, we are told. Her appetite has been nonexistent to tiny and it has truly been a challenge for me to coax much of anything past her lips. Needless to say, we have been eating off separate menus. Lunch today was an exception. We ate differing quantities, of course.
For lunch today we had baby red potatoes and steamed green beans from the garden with white sauce. For protein we had “Chik’n Nuggets” by Morningstar Farms®.
The white sauce consisted of butter, a little olive oil, all purpose flour, real cream, Parmesan cheese, salt and nutmeg.
It was a simple meal, for sure, but it seemed to suit Faye’s appetite, which is encouraging.
