The Cuisinart® Oven Central® I ordered from Amazon® arrived yesterday. Thank you, Judilyn from the WP blog, Adventures of Dorrie Anne, for introducing me to the appliance! I used it for the first time this morning to make a frittata and I couldn’t be more pleased.
The ingredients for the frittata were some I like to include when making a Greek omelet: finely chopped onion, minced jalapeño, tomato, julienned basil, tarragon and feta cheese. I greased the Oven Central® cooking tray with nonstick spray and lined the bottom with sliced Roma tomatoes. After whisking the eggs with a little sour cream which was at its expiration date, I mixed in the onion, jalapeño, basil, tarragon and feta cheese.
I baked the frittata in the Oven Central® at 300ºF for about 15 minutes. Of course the same could be done in any oven.
When the eggs were cooked I place an inverted plate on top and flipped over the cooking tray and plate. The frittata readily fell out of the tray onto the plate. Perfect!
Because of the saltiness of feta cheese I didn’t use additional salt until at the table I realized it was needed.
