Okra is not my favorite vegetable so, needless to say, I don’t buy it often. The stuff sold in the supermarket is usually overly mature and past its prime. There was some young fresh looking okra at the farmers’ market the other day and I bought some to prepare in one of the few ways my palate finds acceptable.
Today’s midday meal was cooked outside on the charcoal grill. I prepared grilled okra, parsnips, pineapple and a few pearl onions. The okra was marinated with toasted sesame oil, salt and pepper.
The parsnips were marinated with white balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper.
The pineapple was marinated with Worcestershire sauce. I used a brand which does not contain anchovies.
