We recently discovered Don Julio’s, the most delicious Mexican food we have ever eaten. The last time we ate there Faye’s plate came with an avocado sauce that was sweet and with a lot of heat. She said, “You have got to try this!”
They gave her a little to take home.
I was determined to duplicate it at home. I made mine with:
- one avocado
- one mild jalapeño
- two regular jalapeños
- the little bit of cilantro worth salvaging from the refrigerator
- lemon juice
- pink salt
Mine was a little greener, a little thicker and not quite as hot as Don Julio’s. This stuff is fit to go on top of anything or just eaten with a spoon.
