I was planning to poach eggs and was looking in the pantry for an alternative to the usual water or tomato sauce in which to cook them. That’s when I discovered this pouch of toasted sesame cooking sauce (every now and then I run across items in the pantry I don’t remember putting in the shopping cart). I read the ingredients and they seemed wholesome enough, so that’s what I went with.
I left the kitchen to check my email, so the eggs ended up more “done” than intended. So… what was our impression of the dish? We would describe it as good, tasty, interesting, different, not bad at all. We enjoyed it and had nothing negative to say about it, but I won’t be searching the grocery aisles for more of the toasted sesame sauce. If you happen to have some in your pantry this is a good way to use it.
