It was over a year ago we were in Charlotte for an appointment and arrived much too early. Living away from the city in the country, as we do, it is impossible to estimate drive time for a commute into the city regardless the time of day. We always allow an extra 30 to 45 minutes to even an hour during rush hour in case of accidents, construction or just plain heavy traffic. There have been times we allowed an extra hour and still barely arrived on time. We hate being late.
On one occasion our commute was so swift that there was time to meander about the city until our appointment drew near. Despite Faye’s frequent admonitions to keep my eyes on the road I glanced to the right (only with my right eye, I swear, my left eye remaining focussed straight ahead) and spotted the Chef’store. Employing my expert driving skills I deftly (with turn signal, of course) swung into the parking lot and we did a whirlwind tour of the store before continuing on to our appointment.
Yesterday, more than a year later, we visited the store again for a more thorough perusal. We found it to be a reasonably priced source for some items for which we have use (especially items in bulk) but that a lot of the merchandise was geared toward fast food type businesses. Still, it was informative and I’m glad we paid a second visit. We now know where to go for certain items should the need come up.
I could really use a Chinoise, but much smaller, please.
I don’t think I need a 27 inch whisk.
Would you look at the size of these whole wheat tortillas!
Not fancy by any means but handy for slashing dough.
