I am not the biggest fan of smoothies. They leave me with a bloated kind of full feeling, not the satisfying fullness I get from eating solid food. A good old fashioned milkshake with real ice-cream and real milk a smoothie is not. Not that I make a habit of indulging – it’s been a few years. I do love a good lassi, sweet or salty. I can’t visit an Indian grocery store without grabbing a salty mint or a sweet mango lassi – usually both.
Making a mango lassi was a good way to use some of the Ataulfo mangoes I froze in July.
- non-fat Greek yogurt
- frozen mangoes
- blanched fresh spinach
- pinch of pink Himalayan salt
- enough cold water to assist the blending process
