Mango Yogurt Dessert Beverage With Spinach

I am not the biggest fan of smoothies. They leave me with a bloated kind of full feeling, not the satisfying fullness I get from eating solid food. A good old fashioned milkshake with real ice-cream and real milk a smoothie is not. Not that I make a habit of indulging – it’s been a few years. I do love a good lassi, sweet or salty. I can’t visit an Indian grocery store without grabbing a salty mint or a sweet mango lassi – usually both.

Making a mango lassi was a good way to use some of the Ataulfo mangoes I froze in July.

I used:

  • non-fat Greek yogurt
  • frozen mangoes
  • blanched fresh spinach
  • pinch of pink Himalayan salt
  • enough cold water to assist the blending process

  1. Sounds lovely, but how is this different from a smoothie? It’s very much how I make them, sometimes with nut milk, sometimes wth coconut water, but because I often have them as a meal for breakfast or lunch I tend to add nuts and seeds too but not always. I never liked the ice-cream varieties at all, too sickly sweet. Frozen fruit smoothies are much better đŸ˜ŠđŸ‘ŒđŸ»

    1. You are right. This is very much a smoothie. It’s just not the type of thing I consume a lot because of the bloated feeling. It would have been a lot less filling had it been thinned with more cold water. There wasn’t room in the blender.
