Soup & Sandwich

Faye dropped a mandoline into our Amazon shopping cart and I went ahead and placed the order. The PL8® Professional Mandoline arrived yesterday. It has every feature one would expect in a quality mandolin. It will be put to good use. With a machine like this one could become rusty with their knife skills. By the way, this is not a paid endorsement.

For the mandoline’s first use I decided to make a sandwich for lunch, and also some soup for a future meal. I wasn’t sure if all this would fit into a sandwich, but anything left could be added to the soup which was already underway.

To provide as much room as possible I hollowed out the bun.

There weren’t a lot of ingredients leftover to add to the soup.

    1. Thank you! I had the same fear with every mandolin I’ve ever had until this one, which, although not danger free, has lots of safety features built in. I learned right quick not to let my fingers get anywhere close to the blades (this thing is bristling with blades). I was just inspecting the damn thing and not even using it yet. In fact, it was because I looked away to read the instructions that my finger inadvertently touched a blade. It is really very safe as long as the recommendations are followed. Trouble is, I insist on checking a thing out before reading the instructions.
